We are located in the bank of Marañon River and we are the only host6el located in the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve; you can visit the local communities, go hiking in the jungle, observe the local flora and fauna, among other activities.

Ecological cabins

Our cabins have a private bathroom and personal hygiene items totally ecological, as shampoo, conditioner and cream. They offer panoramic view, from where you can observe flora and fauna surrounding the Lodge.

HATUCHAY HOTELS IN PACAYA SAMIRIA

3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS PROGRAM (PS-102)

DAY I: IQUITOS/LODGE
We start our adventure through the Peruvian jungle at the airport in Iquitos, we travel to the town of Nauta, the first town founded by the Spanish on the Banks of the Marañon River; the trip takes about 1.30 h. with a distance of  97 km.
In Nauta we board the boats of  Hatuchay Hotels in Pacaya Samiria to visit the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañon Rivers (the source of the Amazon River), then we continue the journey to the Lodge, where we will receive a warm welcome with a season fruit, they will invite us to go to our rooms to leave our luggage and then have lunch. In the afternoon we will go for a walk of interpretation of flora and fauna in Resting forest surrounding the Lodge, we return by night tour to try to locate the demdrobates tiny frogs characterized by their bright colors and poisonous peculiarity, some of the famous hylas species due to changing colors experienced during the day and night.  We go back to the Lodge so we can have time for personal hygiene, dinner and overnight.


DAY II: PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE/LODGE
After breakfast we go to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, with cold lunch on board, zone of nauta caño where we register and enter the reserve.
In our visit we make an excursion searching for pink and gray dolphins by the gorge of the same name, we will also be in touch with the immense variety of flora and fauna the reserve offers.  
The first thing that will call our attention is the river water that reflects the sky with such a fidelity, the clouds, the streamside vegetation and large trees, that the visitors have the feeling of sailing between endless mirrors, so Pacaya Samiria is also known as “the forest of mirrors”.
 We will also go for a walk of interpretation of flooded forests, where we will try to see some primates and sloths, during the journey we can identify the variety of birds and experience a traditional fishing practice with the material used by the Amazonian man for subsistence.
 Immediately after the  Full Day in the Reserve we go back to the Lodge, to visit the women’s crafts center (temporary) of San Jorge community, known for their work in natural fiber (Chambira).
We leave by boat on the Marañon River bound for another area of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve (Cocha San Jacinto) Where we will be attended by a group of communal surveillance working on the Paiche protection (The biggest fish in freshwater in the world) we may go canoeing along the cocha with them, they will tell us about their work and show u show to identify this species in its own habitat, we can also see the famous aquatic plants, “Victorias Regias”, Where the guide will explain about their peculiarities, when returning we will enjoy, if time allows, one of the best sunsets which can be seen in this flooded forest area.
In the Lodge, we can have time for personal hygiene, Dinner.  After dinner the Guide will invite us to move to other room to share myths and legends of the Peruvian Amazon.  Overnight.


DAY III: HIKING IN HIGH RESTINGA /IQUITOS
After breakfast w ego hiking through restinga jungle with cold lunch returning at about noon, where we can see a variety of timber, a variety of birds native to this forest, we will try to see some primates and mammals until we arrive to a rustic camp to rest in hammocks and if you dare enjoy the refreshing water of a high gorge, where the Guide will explain about the importance of its existence and the role it plays in the ecosystems.  When we return to the Lodge we can have time for personal hygiene and we begin our return to the airport or Iquitos, according to the itinerary of the guest.
 Note.-
For last day is included lunch depending on the flight time.  In case of not having it there won’t be a discount or refund.

Sightseeing of the largest bird sanctuary of Peru (3 days)

You can observe the diversity of birds at dawn. Also you can go hiking at night. In the reserve you will find other species such as macaws, cotingas, among others. It includes accommodation in Hatuchay Hotels in Pacaya Samiria, meals and soft drinks. 

 

Magic experience in Pacaya Samiria National Reserve (4 days)

You will visit the source of the Amazon River and you will be part of the Amazon wildlife, you will go on day and night excursions, hiking and swimming in search of pink dolphins in the Yanayacu River; go canoeing, piranha fishing, identification of medicinal plants, observation of birds and you will share with the communities of the area. It includes accommodation in Hatuchay Hotels in Pacaya Samiria, meals and soft drinks.

 

Camping in the Wilderness of Mirrors (5 Days)

You will visit the source of the Amazon River and observe the Amazon wildlife, go on boat trips. Camping in the Pacayha Samiria National Reserve, you will observe the flora and fauna in its natural state, fish piranhas and share with the riparian communities. It includes accommodation in Hatuchay Hotels in Pacaya Samiria, meals and soft drinks.

 

Two camping nights in Pacaya Samiria National Reserve (6 days)

You will visit the source of the Amazon River and observe the Amazon wildlife. During the two camping nights in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve you will go on tours to see pink dolphins, birding, fishing, excursions during day and night, and share with the riparian communities. It includes accommodation in Hatuchay Hotels in Pacaya Samiria, meals and soft drinks.

 

BIRDING PROGRAMS

Birdwatching at dawn, guided excursions during day and night, two camping nights inside the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, you will visit the communities of the area, have the opportunity to observe macaws, parrots, cotingas and endemic birds. It includes accommodation in Hatuchay Hotels in Pacaya Samiria, meals and soft drinks.

 

Observation of bird Paradise (7 Days)

Birdwatching in Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and the Allpahuayo Mishana reserved area, camping in the reserve go on excursions early in the morning, you can observe endemic birds and visit the city of Iquitos.
